Perhaps the simplest and most meaningful way to explain why we began Set Free International is expressed in a vignette taken from the book, "Defining Moments: A Trilogy of Hope." The vision for Set Free was revealed to me as I struggled to find my own path to freedom. Bondage to decay in this world can take many forms, financial poverty is but one. As we grow and partner with women worldwide, we hope that the financial opportunities derived from our combined efforts will bring about positive change in many other aspects of life.
We welcome you to join our freedom march.
Warmly,
Deb Krueger
SET FREE
(pg. 408)
I have been set free
by the Spirit of truth that lives within me.
I seek daily to live in a place of freedom,
a place of beauty and peace,
of love and hope.
A place where time is eternal,
and truth is not obscured by the lie.
It is a place of choice;
each day I can choose to enter.
When I enter,
I see differently.
I see a reality free from the distortions caused by darkness.
I know what I see can be, and will be, because it already exists.
But one must have eyes to see it.
We choose daily how we will see the world,
with eyes born of freedom, or eyes veiled by lies.
When we fear,
we are trapped in bondage to a suffocating delusion.
There was a price paid to set us free.
Freedom.
Free from the insatiable and oppressive demands
of corporations who slay the soul
to feed voracious appetites-
cravings that will not be satisfied by truth.
Masked as an ever-increasing demand for profit,
the corporation becomes a slave master who,
with mouth salivating for more,
shelters his millions while the lives of others are forfeited to the cause.
There is only one good cause.
Freedom.
Freedom from the intrusion of others who
would write darkness as an epitaph on your soul.
With their hearts and minds unprotected by hope,
they become hard and bitter by evil's intent.
Driven by hear,
they refuse to be vulnerable to truth.
They spread their view of reality like a virus.
They cannot see differently.
There is only one truth.
Freedom.
We are told it is naive to believe in what is good and right and true.
It cannot and will not happen.
"Just look around," they say,
"evidence suggests otherwise."
We are encrusted by our lack of belief
and succumb because we cannot see in darkness.
There is light to see a different reality.
Freedom.
It is fear that binds us to a life half lived.
It is a lie.
We have been given life to live it fully, intensely,
without compromise.
For freedom we have been set free.
Freedom.
Some may fear tomorrow will bring a return
of the harm and hurt of the past.
If we pull back and guard our insecurities,
the battle will be lost.
To participate in the promise,
we must believe it is true-real-although we cannot see it tangible.
This is a blessing born of love and placed in the heart.
Inside belief,
hope is never lost and patience is rewarded.
Freedom.
